Welcome to Get Me Prepared.Com
"A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences." Proverbs 22:3
THE STORM CLOUDS GATHER-
ARE YOU READY?
ARE YOU READY?
Hope for the best but prepare for the worst
What would you do if you saw a violent storm approaching? Would you take action to protect your life, your family and your property? Or would you do nothing and hope that it will pass you by? Do you sometimes feel as if the world we live in today is hanging by a thread? That we are just waiting for the other shoe to drop? The daily worldwide news portrays many good reasons for this trepidation, wouldn't you agree? It is our hope that many of you will see the possible storm approaching and take the necessary actions to become more self-reliant and prepare to survive whatever comes our way! Storms can take many forms--natural disasters, job loss, financial depression, food shortages, and civil unrest to name but a few. Can any of us take the chance that something catastropic might happen and that our families' well-being could be in the balance?
Ask yourself if perhaps now is the time to begin to take action in being prepared or should I put it off and hope things can hold together a little bit longer or until I have more time and resources? Ultimately, you have to decide for yourself and your family what is best for you and what you can do now. Regardless of what may, or may not come, a more independent and self-sufficient lifestyle brings its' own rewards including, reducing stress, eating good food from the family garden and improving ones' health.
Let's Get Started! If you have not already done so, start with a Family 72 Hour Emergency Check List. Any preparedness list has to start with safe, pure, water! Begin by making a list of the most essential components of daily living--the items you can't do without! You might also, want to consider stocking up on those 100 items that disappear first from the store shelves in an emergency. It is our hope that the following pages will help get you started on the road to self-reliance and independence.

Images above taken Wednesday, April 27, 2011 of a massive Wedge Tornado approaching a sub-division in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The same View to the right, taken just moments later.
This same horrific tornado incredibly traveled over 350 miles, across Mississippi, Alabama, and into the mountains of north Georgia, Tennessee and North Carolina. At one point during that terrifying day and night, this very tornado passed within sight from our back deck. Thank God, we were spared but many are still living without shelter, water and electricity. Let us keep these affected persons in our prayers and let this be a wake-up call for the rest of us. Weather patterns are changing everywhere.
